Accidental shooting under investigation on Northside

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police are investigating what they're calling an accidental shooting on the Northside.

Authorities say a 20-year-old was rushed to UF & Shands Hospital with a self inflicted gun shot wound to the head.

Detectives say right now they are being told it was an accidental shooting.  They say three other people were inside the home at the time.  Detectives are working to figure out exactly what happened.   Police say from the 911 call , it appears the victim was showing off the gun when it accidentally went off.

Police say the mans injuries are life threatening.

JSO does not believe foul play is involved.
