Pretty sad. Sometimes people make it more about themselves than the person they claim to be honoring. I actually believed Sam, he always seemed so sincere.

The US continues to suffer economic difficulties stemming from the federal government's neglect to reform domestic and foreign spending. The citizens of the US suffer from blatant abuses of their rights such as the NDAA, the TSA, etc. Given that the state of Texas maintains a balanced budget and is the 15th largest economy in the world, it is practically feasible for Texas to withdraw from the union, and to do so would protect it's citizens' standard of living and re-secure their rights and liberties in accordance with the original ideas and beliefs of our founding fathers which are no longer being reflected by the federal government.

Really, you mean there's no mis-spending of our tax $'s going on that they could send Ms Varnum to investigate? I'm sure Mr. Brown or our fine City Council members are not doing anything sneaky or shady. *Meanwhile at the Courthouse* Guy in wheelchair:"I thought there was a law against opening up a new building that wasn't handicapped accessible?" City Council: "Oh, that only applies if the builder and architect aren't giving kickbacks."

why did he do it ??? simple... it added to his percieved notion of his conservative self ... he was remaking himself,, so he fit the image of what he percieved a true ultra conservative American should be.. former war hero/soldier/sailor/seal ... without that connection,, he is just a local rush bigmouth on the radio...now that he has been publicly disgraced by his fellow liberal media consorts,,, he claims his service was so secret, that no one can gain entry to his records ??? well, yeah ,, if he was black ops,, maybe... if what he did was against the laws of the u.s.,, possibly ??? but one look at the pillsbury doughboy,, & you can see he couldn't even pass bootcamp !!! we don't need laws governing what fools can claim,,, we need our legislators to concentrate on the job at hand,, improving our economy & finding homes for our veterans... stolen valor, does not put a roof over their heads,, nor food in their stomachs... the rest is smoke & mirrors,, flash bang... 15 seconds of news at 6 pm & ancient history... get to work senators/congressmen/women

@ jacksonville21 ~ The point being of my statement was that it doesn't really MATTER to waste their time to investigate someone of no importance. I know what it takes to be military, thank you. And sure he was disrespectful in lying about it, but guess what? It's called freedom of speech. It's rather stupid of the news station to air something so insignificant. It's insignificant because there are LOTS of people who lie about being or having been military. But yet you don't see them plastered all over the news and internet for it. You don't see Catherine going to their house and trying to get an interview with them. Now do you? No. Thought so. ;)

@Iamcomacci, who cares if he is white. There is no excuse for lying about being a Veteran. NONE! You are a disgrace. Using this story to spout off your own opinions about the president shows just how trashy you are. I would also like to note that at the end of the story it was told that it is no longer a crime to impersonate a Veteran. This is not true. The STOLEN VALOR ACT of 2012 was enacted to stop people from impersonating Veterans to scam people out of money or anything else. I'm glad you exposed this guy, but by not doing your research you may have put others at risk of being scammed by these type of guys. Go Navy! - A Vet

DarkenedRose, here is why it is a big deal. The job the military does is different than say, working in a bank. No one will lie and say they work in a bank. Why? Because military service takes a certain individual with a certain mindset. It's not fro everyone, and that's OK. Just don't say you do what we do, when you haven't done it. Sure, it's free speech, but when you get what this guy and others get for lying about it, don't wonder why.
