JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Action News is getting results for a local woman who was incorrectly billed for years on property taxes after selling her property.
Beverly Robinson tells Action News she sold the land off Soutel Drive to JTA in 2004.
But for the next few years the property appraiser's office continued to bill her. She paid them more than $3,000. Robinson was told she might not be able to get the full reimbursement.
But after Action News started making calls, Robinson says she was told she'd get the money back.
"I knew immediately why it happened, that you all had probably called to get an opinion. I owe it to you for making it happen," Robinson said.
The property appraiser's office admits to Action News that it was a mistake.
Robinson's payment will still have to be approved by the city, but it is not expected to be an issue.
