JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Signs were drawn, music was turned up loud, and chants could be heard from across the street at a Monday afternoon rally for Jordan Davis.

Demonstrator Anita Shepherd says they gathered for one reason.

"It was disappointing for them not to reach a verdict on the killing of a young man," says Shepherd.
Davis supporter Faizah Mixon says she would love to ask the Michael Dunn jury questions to understand how a mistrial happened.

"How can you come up guilty on attempted murder but a young man lost his life and there's no verdict? You couldn't come up with that? -" asked Mixon.

As demonstrators passed out information to drivers, Maura Wolfson-Foster got out of her car and joined the rally for a few minutes.

"It makes me very sad, but I'm proud of all these people that are here today and I wish I could do more," said Wolfson-Foster.

Anika Toure with the New Jim Crow Movement says their actions are far from over and are calling for the public to wear black ribbons on Tuesday as a physical sign of disagreement with the mistrial and support for Jordan Davis.

"This ribbon is going to signify all of the black and brown that's being murdered," says Toure.

The Jacksonville Progressive Coalition says they will host several events including more rallies until a retrial gives them the verdict they desire. The next rally being planned is what they're calling a 'hoodies up' rally for Feb. 26 at Hemming Plaza.

THANK YOU! It was simply NOT 1st degree... he didnt say "Man that Jordog dude is really crimping my style. he keeps setting up on the street corner I sell my crackrocks on so Im gonna go get me some. HES DYIN TONIGHTS". It wasnt even "Man, I really really want to go and find some random thugs in Jax that are playing thier music too loud and ask them to turn it down. After they do and one of them starts threatening me, Im going to KILL him". See that would be PRE(Before)MEDITATED(though about) or "thought about BEFORE doing it". Thats how that works you idiots. Cory, AGAIN, went for something that was not reasonable. She figured shoot(hahah) the highest charge out there and then let the jury decide on something lower if they wanted too. Its a terrible way to do anything. If someone gets pulled over, Cory would just charge them with murder and let a judge or jury figure out what the real charge should be... thats what she did here. So what does she actually do anyway? She cant prosecute worth a damn so Im not sure exactly what her purpose is other than to make everyone in the City of Jax, BEST ON EARTH, look like a bunch of idiots too. Either that or to stand there and look UGLY, no sorry, thats not right, FUGLY!!! So 2nd degree and thats a stretch, would be about the most she could EVER get Dunn on. But then again hes white so charge him with whatever you want and let the animals that dont care about working on thier 45 kids go and protest for a week straight, even though they look more stupid than Cory for not investigating or figuring out what the heck is going on and why he wasnt convicted of 1st degree, AKA PRE-MEDITATED, murder...

To all the chucklebrains (or idiots) that don't relize that the Jury knows he was shot by Dunn, they need to go after the States Attorney, and teach her the difference between 1st and 2nd degree murder. The murder was NOT premeditated, it was a stupid and foolish reaction to Jordans inconsideration to loud music in a public place. That is second degree murder, of which I believe he is guilty.

"The Jacksonville Progressive Coalition says they will host several events including more rallies until a retrial gives them the verdict they desire." If you really feel that way, why don't you all do it the old fashioned way: drag him out of the jail and lynch him? What color are YOUR hoodies?
