ELKTON, Fla. -- It's fun like you've never seen it before.
From far and wide, people are traveling to Sykes and Cooper Farms in Elkton for some fall festivities -- and a little education along with it.
"It's a local connection, it's something they'll be able to build on for the rest of their lives," Jay Willets, Principal at Crookshank Elementary, said.
From a bouncing corn popper, to a 9-acre maze to animals like Miss Piggy. You name it -- together it makes up agricultural entertainment, or agritainment for short.
"It's completely different from any other farming that we've been doing in our family for the past 50 years," Rachel Callum said.
Callum says they started providing agritainment three years ago. When mother nature threatens the crops, and leaves behind a lean harvest, it comes through in a big way.
"When things aren't going so well money-wise, this new thing has helped us out to be able to keep the doors open," Callum continued.
People of all ages seem to enjoy their day on the farm...especially kids. Principal Willets says this a fieldtrip his school will never forget.
"For them to experience this is fantastic," he said with a smile.
In the last two years, Sykes and Cooper Farms has attracted about 22,000 visitors each year. They hope to break that number this time around.
