JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- A few heavy showers and storms will linger this evening before dying out near sunset followed by clearing.  Scattered afternoon thunderstorms will develop Friday after temperatures reach the low 90s.  Where storms occur, expect heavy rain and lightning.  Storms will increase even more for the weekend due to a combination of an approaching cold front and a tropical disturbance moving east from the Gulf of Mexico.  Hurricane "Leslie" is 1,000+ miles to the east of Florida and will stay far from the area but still produce an easterly swell at our local beaches enhancing the rip current risk.
