ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga.-- It's the movie that keeps people laughing and TV employees reminiscing: "Anchorman Part 2: The Legend of Ron Burgundy" is coming soon, with a Glynn County twist.
"It's a lot of excitement. People are all coming out more than they usually would," Beth Walters said.
We found crews building a set today along the 5th Street beach access. Scenes will also be shot at the Coast Guard station, Neptune Park and the St. Simons Island Pier. Locals couldn't be happier.
"Just brings good commerce to the area," Allan Goukas said.
Oh yes, it will! The cast and crew are expected to spend the equivalent of 2,000 nights in local hotel rooms -- and boost business at shops like St. Simons Sweets.
"When Nancy Grace came here, we gave her a basket with goodies and things. I'm sure we'll whip up something extraordinary, extravagant," employee John Cook said.
For now, folks will have to wait for stars Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate and Steve Carrell. We're told the production and construction crews will lay the groundwork first -- then bring in the cast.
Some locals say they'll stake out along the way, so they don't miss their slice of Hollywood.
"We're expecting a lot of people coming in for the production and folks to watch the filming of it as well, so we're pretty excited here in the Golden Isles," Walters said.
Filming runs through May 15 in Glynn County. Other scenes will be shot in Atlanta.
