GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. – The city of Green Cove Springs has announced its 25th Annual Memorial Day RiverFest celebration. The event will be held in Historic Spring Park along the St. Johns River. Along with arts, crafts, swimming, food and fireworks, attendees can participate in the Third Annual Freedom Marathon 4 Mile Race/Walk.

While the event is full of fun and games, the city is taking time to honor our fallen veterans with the 16th Annual Parade of Flags Display.
The display consists of white crosses topped with American flags bearing the name of the fallen soldier and the theater of war they served in. According to the city, the display is a moving and symbolic tribute to the men and women of our armed forces who bravely served their country at home and abroad

The celebration kicks off May 27, 2013 from 8 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Historic Spring Park.
