JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man convicted of armed robbery learned his fate today.

A judge sentenced Antwan Jeremiah Ellis to 25 years in prison, with a 20-year minimum.  The prison sentence will be followed by five years of probation.

Ellis robbed a BP gas station on 103rd Street in September 2011.  In his run from police, the 25-year-old dropped a backpack containing his birth certificate.

Police had no problem finding him, in fact, officers were waiting for him when he arrived at his home after the robbery.

Do the crime - do the time. no one said you have to be smart to become a criminal, just lack of respect for laws, law enforcement officers, and others. The requirements to become a criminal: there is no quota system, no special color, race, gender, or creed.......just disrespect for others. If our prisons have a majority of individuals in one of these other groups, it is a reflection of what their parents DID NOT teach them.
