JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -- A Jacksonville Beach robbery suspect has been arrested after he was tracked down by a cell phone he stole from the victim.
Two women were walking down 7th Avenue North in Jacksonville Beach when a light colored Cadillac passed them. The Cadillac made a U-turn and pulled up to the two girls. A man got out of the backseat and robbed the two women at gunpoint. He took their wallets and their cell phones before speeding away in the car.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office was able to track the cell phone of one of the victims to a location on the Westside. Detectives with Jacksonville Beach police went to the address at 7900 block of Dubois Drive and found the victims' wallets and phones. The resident, Joshua Johnson, was identified as the gunman. He confessed to the crime and was arrested.
A second suspect who was driving the Cadillac was also identified. Detectives are looking for 35-year-old Thomas Fryer. Police say Fryer is a convicted felon and is considered armed and dangerous. A warrant for his arrest has been issued.
