JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The teen facing federal terrorism charges is now considering a plea deal, according to his public defender.

Shelton Bell, 19, is accused of helping terrorists overseas and of damaging an Arlington cemetery during so-called training missions. Federal investigators say Bell made plans to travel to the Arabian Peninsula to join Al-Qaeda.

Tuesday, Bell's attorney, Lisa Call, said a plea offer was received from federal prosecutors, but did not release details. Call said her client will take time to review it and is confident the case will be resolved before trial. The deadline to accept the plea offer is March 19 with a tentative trial date set for April 7.

The U.S. Attorney's Office had no comment on the deal.

"Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort." The only bargain this piece of filth deserves is the choice of a bullet or a rope.
