ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- The medical examiner says Barbara Parchem actually died of a gunshot wound to the head, not blunt force trauma as authorities initially said.
Sheriff deputies found Parchem's remains in Flagler County, several weeks after she disappeared.
At the time, investigators said she died of blunt force trauma. But after examining the remains even further, Dr. Predrag Bulic found a bullet hole in Parchem's skull.
No one has been arrested in her murder. Lilly Ann Chavez, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office, remains a person of interest
in her mother's murder. She was just released from jail on a weapons charge.
