ATLANTA, Ga. (WSB) -- The Georgia State Patrol said an infant and a teenager were the victims of a fatal street-racing crash on Interstate 20 Friday morning.
GSP said the infant’s mother, Alassen Anderson, was behind the wheel of a Honda Accord that was racing another vehicle on westbound I-20 near Salem Road before 2 a.m. The Accord lost control, hit the guardrail and traveled across westbound lanes before being hit by a pickup truck, GSP said.
The infant and Edi Rodriguez, 19, were killed. The infant’s mother and two people in the pickup truck were also injured.
GSP said troopers believe they have identified the other driver involved in the race.
Another car slowed for the first crash and was rear-ended.
Also Friday morning, a vehicle crashed into a large road sign while traveling north on Interstate 75 at Moores Mill Road just before 4 a.m. The driver was killed in the crash.
No names have been released in either crash.
