MACCLENNY Fla. -- The St. Marys River is already swallowing Steel Bridge Road in Macclenny. For many neighbors, it's Debby deja-vu.
"I've got my boat sitting out there and I got my kicker here in case it come up real sudden like it did before," said Lonzie Lauramore.
After Tropical Storm Debby, it took weeks for record high river levels to return to normal. Rapid flood waters washed away homes. And now a week of heavy rain has the river rising yet again.
Baker County is bracing for Tropical Storm Isaac.
"I don't think we can do anything quite frankly to prevent it," said Major Gerald Gonzalez with the Baker County Sheriff's Department. "I think the most important thing is if we have another event like that how are we going to respond to that."
Right now they're responding with sandbags, and a warning to take evacuation seriously.
"I think this time we're at an advantage because of Debby being so recent folks will probably tend to heed our warnings a little more seriously in the event that this does impact us," said Major Gonzalez.
