BRADFORD COUNTY, Fla. -- Deputies with the Bradford County Sheriff's Office say a chance encounter led them to a man wanted for two local bank robberies.

Just before 8 p.m. Thursday night a detective with the Bradford County Sheriff's Office was on patrol and noticed a green vehicle that matched the description of a vehicle connected with a robbery at the Community State Bank in Lake Butler on December 7.

The detective noticed a tail light out and pulled the car over. The sheriff's office says the driver was Brian Shea McDonald. McDonald was taken into custody on a warrant out of Union County.

Investigators say McDonald is also responsible for a robbery at the Capital City Bank in Gainesville on December 11.

He has also been charged with violating probation.
