JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- A tropical air mass combined with some midday sun and an approaching weather disturbance will ignite widespread heavy showers and thunderstorms across Jacksonville, Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia through this evening.  Rainfall rates will be as high as 1-3" per hour causing ponding of water on highways and localized flooding.  Slow down if you have travel plans and expect delays through the afternoon commute.  Showers will become more scattered overnight with muggy lows in the low to mid 70s.  More of the same for Wednesday as showers and storms will redevelop with locally heavy rain.  Click ** here ** to send First Alert Weather photos and video....click ** here ** to download the FREE First Alert Weather iPad App.
