JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Craft beer breweries are turning into a happy hour hot spot. Over the past few years, we've seen a few of these small breweries sprout up.
The local brews usually have a pretty dedicated and loyal customer base.
But some brewers are upset at how Florida law works when it comes to selling what they've made.
By law, craft brewers need to go through a distributor to sell their beer are stores and restaurants.
The distributor's expense can cut into profits, and some brewers are trying to change the laws. "You really depend on them," says Susan Miller, who owns Bold City Brewery.
Miller says she doesn't have any complaints because distributors have help get her brews into more than 250 restaurants.
In some states, like California, brewers can deliver their beer straight to restaurants.
Brewers are also challenging a Florida Law that says they can't sell their beer in half-gallon growlers, which is a type of jug.
The same law prevents the sale of 40-ounce bottles of beer.
