JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- A few showers and heavy thunderstorms will occur this evening followed by clearing skies and areas of fog thanks to all the rain the area has received the last few days. "Beryl" is moving away over the Western Atlantic so expect a more typical summertime weather pattern for metro Jacksonville and nearby areas. Thursday will be hot with afternoon highs near 90 all the way to the coast and in the 90s inland. Scattered afternoon storms will develop and will be capable of producing gusty winds, frequent lightning and very heavy rain. Storms Friday have the potential to be even stronger and at least a little more widespread.
