JACJACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The mother of Jacksonville's youngest murder suspect will not be sentenced until next year on manslaughter charges.
Biannela Susana, mother of Cristian Fernandez, is facing up to 30 years in prison for failing to protect her dying two year old. This morning a judge moved her sentencing hearing to the morning of January 8, 2013.
In recent months, Susana's court case revealed the 26-year-old mother left her two year old with her other son Cristian while running errands. When she returned, the baby was unconsious and suffering from severe head trauma.
She told police Cristian told her the baby fell from the bed.
Susana pleaded guilty to felony manslaughter charges in July. She waited nearly eight hours to call for medical assistance.
Meanwhile, Cristian Fernandez will also be in court Monday for a pre-trial hearing.
