ORANGE PARK, Fla.-- Clay County leaders voted to review the proposal for Big League Dreams to design and manage a proposed mega ball park.

On Wednesday, the Clay County Development Authority took the next step to turn the proposed ballpark into a reality. It was the only proposal that came in to make this field happen.

As we first told you Monday, Joe Riley filed a complaint with FDLE alleging secret meetings about this mega park. FDLE told Action News they looked into it but wouldn't comment on any state investigation. When we first tried to ask questions to those heading up the project, they didn't want to go on camera.

But after the vote Wednesday, a consultant on the project finally answered our questions. "We are going to further explore what their proposal is," said consultant Kerrie Stewart.

According to an economic impact study, this project and surrounding development will bring in more than $90 million over 10 years in personal income for Clay County. But our investigation revealed at least two of the company's other facilities aren't bringing in the big bucks they promised. So we asked the consultant if taxpayers would get a return on their $19-million-dollar investment.

"All I can tell you is we are going to further do our due diligence to explore those questions," said Stewart.

Stewart could not tell us when a review of the proposal would be finished.

You have GOT to be kidding me... The payed Big League Dreams a 450,000 dollars and signed a licensing agreement with them several years ago and the CCDA is "just now" going to do their "due diligence" on Big League Dreams? O.K.....Who is getting the "pay-off" here? Secret meetings to negotiate a contract with Clay County and also with BFC Limited partnership since at least June and the CCDA do not already "know" what they need to know about this project?? Lies///All Lies
