Big push for warship in downtown Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-- A local grassroots group is determined to bring the USS Charles F. Adams to Jacksonville. The warship would not only serve as an educational tool, but a big money maker as well.

Perhaps if we activate the weapons systems and keep the 5 inch guns aimed at city hall the politicians will remember who they work for...

A noble cause and anything that enhances the Jax "deadtown" is a good thing. Having a naval vessel is a visitor attraction but to compare a destroyer to a battleship or carrier, is not an honest comparison. Maintenance costs and "volunteers" will be the deciding factors.
