ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- A black bear was spotted Thursday morning in a St. Augustine backyard.
Early Tuesday morning Joanna Smith started her day like any other. She and her 2-year-old daughter did their normal routine of letting their two Rottweilers outside while they made breakfast.
Smith went to close her door and noticed a black bear was standing on her porch. She slowly closed and locked her door.
The bear grazed through the yard for about ten minutes and then walked off into the woods.
Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission dispatch has not received any calls today about black bear sightings.
