ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. -- Alachua County deputies, along with the help of a bystander, were able to rescue an exausted boater from his canoe on Lake Alto.

Alachua County deputies say a 22-year-old man called 911 from his canoe. He was tired and disoriented.

Two deputies boarded a boat piloted by a person from Waldo. Together, the deputies and the good samaritan were able to rescue the stranded man in the canoe and bring him back to shore safely.
