ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- The St. Johns County Fire and Rescue Department says five boaters are safe and back on dry land after their 15-foot fiberglass boat sank near the Matanzas Inlet Friday night.

All five victims were able to swim to a nearby island. Another passing boat was able to pick them up and take them back to shore.

Rescue teams are now searching the Intracoastal Waterway for debris from the accident to make sure the water is safe for other boaters. No one was injured and no one is missing.
