Boaters rescued after sailing catamaran in St. Augustine Inlet
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- Response crews with Towboat USA rescue two boaters sailing in the St. Augustine Inlet.
A man and a woman were sailing a catamaran in the inlet when the catamaran lost power.
The man called Towboat USA to assist them. Somehow, the man fell off the boat as Towboat USA was in route.
Response crews with the rescue company picked up the man and then went to help the 38-year-old woman still on the boat. The woman says she couldn't sail in the rough surf.
Rescue crews with St. Johns County Fire Rescue were called to help the woman off the boat. As the fire department removed the woman from the vessel, the man returned to the catamaran. The man successfully sailed the boat into the inlet.
There were no injuries.
