JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- JSO is investigating a homicide in Northwest Jacksonville after a man's body was found in the street overnight.

According to JSO, a man in his mid to late 40's was found on the road at the intersection of 21st Street and Myrtle Avenue just before 1:30 Tuesday morning.

"What we've learned so far is that he was outside. Some area residents heard several gunshots. They called police. Police came out and that's what they found," said JSO Sgt. T.K. Waters.

JSO says the man was rushed to UF & Shands Jacksonville where he was pronounced dead.

Police are currently canvassing the area for more information. They do not have any suspects at this time.

The noon news made a big deal out of tying this into "gun violence" - how about pointing out the group/locations that all these new murders come from and whether or not the guns are legally possessed by a "law-abiding citizen"??!

What's that make it now, 4 murders in 8 days? Corey, if you want to "get these homicide's under control" you need to keep the pos in jail instead of letting them out. AND QUIT FILLING UP THE CELLS WITH 12 YEAR OLD BOYS.
