JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Authorities have recovered a body from the shore of Little Talbot Island, not far from where a local swimmer disappeared Saturday evening.

A group of three men was out swimming when two of them starting having problems.  A surfer nearby pulled one person to safety.  When he went back for the second swimmer, he was gone.

Florida Fish & Wildlife spokesperson Karen Parker said a body came ashore this morning.  Little Talbot Island is about a mile from Huguenot Park.

Authorities suspended the search for the missing swimmer on Sunday due to rough conditions at sea.

Authorities are working to identify the victim.

What is not commented on the reason it is so hard to ID the body. Sea life, mostly sharks, take nibbles out dead things in the ocean. Want shock one day on a holiday summer weekend fly along the beach coast and look down. Sharks are often only few hundred feet away from the surfers and deep water swimmers. The media does not like to discuss why they got ID the victim might scare away people from beaches to know their eyeballs get eaten out by fish after they drown etc.
