ORLANDO, Fla. (WFTV) -- The FBI has cleared a crime scene Friday night where they shot and killed Ibragim Todashev.
The shooting happened at the Windover Apartments on Wednesday when agents questioned him about a Boston-area triple homicide. Agents claimed he lunged at them with a knife.
Neighbors told WFTV's Ryan Hughes Todashev was friendly.
On the front door of the apartment where Todashev was shot and killed by a federal agent is a small picture of an AK-47.
Neighbors said they heard the shots that killed him Wednesday morning.
Xelmada Molina said via a translator that she heard two gunshots.
"She just went and check if we OK, like if a bad guy was in our house," Molina said via a translator.
Molina said she looked out the window and saw police on the phone.
An FBI agent, two Massachusetts State Police detectives and other law enforcement officers are at the home in the Windover apartment complex to interview Todashev.
They said he had a role in a 2011 Boston-area triple homicide that also involved Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarneav.
The FBI claims during questioning that Todashev lunged at an agent with a knife, and the agent opened fire.
It's hard for neighbors to believe.
Neighbor Adam Soto said he first saw Adam Soto using his water hose.
"If he was a violent guy, he should've kicked my butt right there," Soto said.
WFTV learned the FBI turned over Todashev's body to his estranged wife.
She said it's at a funeral home on Kirkman Road.
She's still waiting for the FBI to give her his personal belongings, including his passport, and said his body will be flown to his native Russia, where he'll be buried.
