Bomb threat delays casino boat departure
ATLANTIC BEACH, Fla. -- An email bomb threat temporarily closed the port at Port Canaveral and delayed the boarding and departure of the Carnival Miracle cruise ship Thursday night. The threat was directed at a casino boat and the cruise ship was nearby.
Crews from Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville at Atlantic Beach responded to the threat when it was received around 5 p.m. All boating traffic was stopped and a safety zone established.
Port Canaveral Police did multiple sweeps and found no threat. The port was then reopened to boating traffic.
