JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police are searching for a man who stole a 1998 white Lincoln Navigator with a child inside from the Kendall Court apartment complex off Lem Turner Road Friday night.

Ed Kimbrough, the owner of the vehicle, says he was picking his clothes up from the complex laundromat at the time of the incident. His 9-year-old son, Kenny, wasn't feeling well and was sitting in the SUV at the time.

According to police, a suspect stole the vehicle most likely not realizing Kenny was inside at the time. Police say he forced the boy out of the car on Lem Turner Road and took off.

Kenny is now safely back with his family, but police are still searching for the suspect and the stolen vehicle.

Anyone with information is being asked to call Crime Stoppers 1-866-845-TIPS (8477)
