LAS VEGAS, NV --  A Bradford County High School teacher and football coach was found guilty of killing a man outside a Las Vegas Strip casino restroom in July 2011.

Benjamin Hawkins was convicted of involuntary manslaughter by the Nevada jury.

Hawkins told police he was defending himself when he punched 38-year-old John Massie who, Hawkins claimed, was making derogatory comments about his race.

Security camera video showed the two men a few feet apart before Hawkins turned around and punched the defenseless man.

After the verdict Hawkins’ attorney said he was very disappointed with decision and that his client will travel back to Florida until his sentencing date.

Hawkins' sentencing date is set for: Feb 14th, 2013 at 9:30 a.m.
