JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-- Neighbors in Arlington are worried about the Mathews Bridge being closed.
The bridge was shut down Thursday after a Navy ship hit it.
"We come here three-four times a week," said Sharon Anderson.
Drivers have already noticed the huge backup all over the area Thursday, just a couple of hours after a Navy ship hit the bridge.
"I was on Southside and took unit it took me an hour. It's bad," said Karen King.
The bridge is the gateway into downtown from Arlington. But the road closed signs are out two miles before the bridge, telling drivers to take another route.
Drivers are just worried about how long they'll have to be dealing with this traffic nightmare. "It's a mess. It's going to be a mess," said Anderson.
