Bridge of Lions opened to traffic
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- The Bridge of Lions in St. Augustine is open to traffic once again after being shut down around 6 p.m. Friday.
St. Johns County Fire Rescue reports the bridge suffered a mechanical failure and was forced to suspend operations until the problem was fixed.
Repair crews were able to fix the mechanical problem around 6 a.m. Saturday.
The historic drawbridge underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation that was completed in 2010, in which many parts of bridge were replaced.
