WOODBINE, Ga.- A crash ends a summer vacation and changes a family forever.

Brother and sister, Taylor, 18, and Katlyn, 15, Humphrey were killed in a crash that happened near the Georgia-Florida boarder on I-95. They were traveling with their mother, father and 12-year old sister on a trip from North Carolina to visit family in Florida. Brenda and Claude and Carley Humphrey have all been treated for their injuries and released from the hospital.

The Georgia Highway Patrol says the tire blew on their 2004 Ford Explorer causing them to swerve and overturn their SUV into a ditch.

The Georgia Highway Patrol says Claude Humphrey was behind the wheel when it happened. Only Claude and Carley were wearing their seatbelts.

I can't help but notice how many of these fatal blown tire car crashes are Ford Explorers. It seems like a strange coincidense.

Could happen to anyone. Good tires, not speeding...just happened. I hope seatbelts were used and this is a reminder to wear yours today. A nice family on the way for a Florida 4th. God bless.

Amen mrs firemedic... Amen. Good folks, good family. The family reunion they were headed to in FL will now be a sad one here in NC.

This is just so sad. This is a wonderful family with all American children, active in the community and church. Deep Run is a small town and the news has devastated this community. Everyone is praying for them and that God eases the burden of their grief.
