GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Interstate 75 near the Newberry exit in Gainesville is back open after a semi carrying livestock crashed into a guardrail.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol a semi carrying livestock blew a tire, and veered off the highway.  It then crashed into a guardrail alongside the highway.

Several cattle and bulls were able to get out of the trailer and run free along the interstate.

Traffic was backed up for 12 miles as officers tried to catch the animals.
