Man arrested after chase from Central Florida to St. Johns County
FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. -- The Flagler County Sheriff's Office says a wanted man is now in custody after a wild chase from Orlando all the way up to St. Johns County on U.S. 1.
Deputies say Thomas Loncala started running from police in Orlando. Flagler deputies picked up the chase on U.S. 1 near Bunnell.
Deputies chasing Loncala say he reached speeds of up to 100 miles per hour in his BMW as he tried to get away.
Deputies used stop sticks and disabled three of his tires, but say Loncala kept going and nearly crashed into a construction worker.
Deputies finally brought his car to a stop on U.S. 1 in St. Johns County.
Loncala was taken to Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine and will be transfered to the St. Johns County Jail.
Deputies say they found a handgun, crystal meth and marijuana in his car. A woman was also in the car with him, but she has not been charged.
