JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The team that works with abused kids in our area has to move out of a local county.

Dr. Bruce McIntosh has a tough job as the head of the First Coast Child Protection Team. He sees our area's worst cases of child abuse. Now he's concerned some kids won't get the help they need.

"We're going to have to move out by the end of the year," said Dr. McIntosh.

For the past 2.5 years, CPT has been using a building leased by Orange Park Medical Center for free. Orange Park Medical tells us it is no longer leasing the building, so CPT has to leave.
Mcintosh worries kids in Clay County will lose out.

"Families will travel perhaps an hour or more to come up here to the Jacksonville office," said Mcintosh.

tells Action News Baker, St. Johns and Nassau counties give the team buildings to use for free in exchange for services, which can run up to$250 per child. Clay County pays the exam fee and gets a bill. So far this year the team has seen 232 kids in that county alone.

McIntosh said CPT is seeing more children every year, and he worries with that number increasing and families being forced to drive farther for help, children will suffer. "I'd hate to think anyone would not report a case of abuse because of inconveniencing someone," said Dr. Mcintosh.

#1 your friends mom may make $87\hr but not everyone wants to go to "" so she will probably be living in a dumpster next door to you again before too long, no worries! #2 why dont they just move straight to hell where they came from? Even Satan wont let them down there anymore:( too bad. And no I am not against parents who abuse thier kids getting the worst we have to offer, in fact I will volunteer to personally go out to thier homes and stick nails through thier scummy eyeballs and then use those same nails to hammer thier testicles to the bottom of a US Navy submarine that is about ready to leave on its next mission... and no worries as I dont discriminate, if its a woman an immediate bullet to the head for any female that gave birth to an angel(and no IT doesnt deserve to be called a mother) that allows ANY harm to come to said angel... but these people are more like child harassment services and mess with people they dont like and pass over the ones who they cannot hold thier kids for ransom while they attend thier wifes anger management school. And no, relax and put your little "thingy" away because yu cant use me to pound on it as I was never in this situation but make it a point to help people who have been... again the real issue is the kids who are truly in need of this protection do not get it becasue no one seems to really care in teh communities where it is most prevelant and the parents that do get harassed by this scum are 80% of the time harrased due to some political\family reason... this system, as most associated with the whole Big Brother concept of todays US of A needs more than a rework, it needs a good gutting and skinning followed by a rebuild from teh groud up so we can get past that 20% FAIL rate and into the 90%s where it needs to be. Just sayin.
