St. Augustine, Fla. -- A St. Augustine boy receives a little sight for the first time, after the community donated thousands of dollars so his family could afford a special surgery in China.

The first time we introduced you to Christian Chapu, he was five years old and couldn't see very well, but he had a lot to say.

"I want to be a meteorologist. I like storms and rain," he said.

Christian suffered from a severe optic nerve disorder. But with the persistence of his mom and the help of the community, the Chapu family raised $60,000 to afford a one of a kind stem cell surgery in China.

"I got needles in my ears. Needle right here and right here," said Christian.

Christian had seven stem cell treatments. Now back in Jacksonville, he is already seeing better.

"My eyes used to hurt right here and they use to burn," he said.

"The other day he said he could see something black and that eye he couldn't see anything out of, not even light," says Christian Nalla Maude.

It's like music to this mom's ears. Christian who is now six, takes piano lessons at the St. Augustine School of Performing Arts.

"You would never know he can't see. He reacts like he can see. We're learning to play by ear, not looking at music notes," said his teacher, Annette Danielson.

Little Christian is in tune with his new eyes. Nearly every week, he sees something he's never seen before. His mom calls her son a miracle and the community her saving grace.

"This couldn't have been possible without the community," she added.

Christian is singing praises to his supporters too, thanking them for giving him the gift of sight.

"Thank you, thank you. I want to thank you for that," said Christian.
