City Council candidate withdraws after insurance fraud arrest
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A City Council candidate charged with insurance fraud is pulling out of the race.
Orlando Robles-Santana sent a letter to the Supervisor of Elections to withdraw from the race for City Council at Large Group 1.
He's accused of insurance fraud.
"My moral commitment, my identity as a human being and my values would not allow me to continue, at this time, running for City Council," wrote Robles-Santana in his withdrawal letter.
Robles-Santana also served as president of the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce of Northeast Florida and of the Council for Hispanic Affairs.
