City Council honors inspirational football player paralyzed after hit
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville City Council honored J.T. Townsend Tuesday evening.
City Council members commemorated his life at their meeting to recognize the positive mark he left on the city.
Townsend died this past June from a heart attack. He suffered a spinal cord injury back in 2004 during a high school football game.
He helped found a group that helps families facing situations like his.
