JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Mayor Alvin Brown, Jaguars owner Shad Khan, and Deutsche Bank announced expanded services for local veterans on Friday.

The three cut the ribbon on a new Veterans Resource and Reintegration Center at City Hall. The five-year, $1 million partnership will offer services for veterans returning home.

I think this is something we need and we need to do a lot more," Khan said. "Frankly, you just got to walk around this area a couple of blocks and you find out what this community needs."

Members of local veterans group said the center could provide a needed link for veterans and services like career, housing and financial assistance.

"With PTSD, there's things in place to combat that," said Ron Jackson, head of the local chapter of the Montford Point Marine Association. "But when you can't find work, it just enhances those other things."

Deutsche Bank is also partnering with the city in donating to a grant program to support services that provide transition assistance and family support.
