JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville City Council just bought the Jake Godbold building for $14 million

Before today, the city was leasing it for$1 million a year.

Leaders say the purchase will save taxpayers more money in the long run.

Others argue, the city already owns too many buildings, including dozens that sit empty.

I wonder when the city will think about leasing the old buildings that they already own. In the long run??? I think the city needs the money now to be used for education, rehabilitation for the city and it's environment including unemployment.
