JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The city of
Jacksonville now has a new, instant way to inform people about severe weather.
Mayor Alvin Brown announced Wednesday the launch of “JaxReady”, a new mobile app designed to alert the city and relay plans for evacuations in the event of a natural disaster.
The free app can be downloaded on the iPhone and Android, and comes just in time for the start of hurricane season.
Mayor Brown says the new app will be vital in times of emergency, since sometimes all people have are their cell phones.
