JACKSONVILLE Fla. -- With the home team on a winning streak, the mayor wants to make sure his team is doing everything in its power to make sure Thursday's home game is also a win for downtown.

"Having a winning team in a winning city is a great combination," said Mayor Alvin Brown.

Reps for independent authorities JEA, JTA, JAXport and the Jacksonville Aviation Authority rallied downtown Monday morning making it clear they'll do everything to make sure everything goes according to plan.

JTA officials say they plan on having shuttles available from the Convention Center, Kings Avenue, JTB, Orange Park and the Beaches. The big push all starts with a massive free tailgate outside the stadium leading up to the game.

With fans riled up, the city hopes faith is restored not only in the Jaguars but in downtown.

"I want people to know we're winners on and off the field," Brown said.

The big Jaguars tailgate will kick off Thursday at 5:30 p.m. Be sure to watch the EverBank Pregame Show, hosted by Brian Sexton, Jeff Lageman, Brent Martineau, and Dan Hicken on CBS47 at 7 p.m.

The game is at 8:30 on the NFL Network.

Texans will loose this game to cement their 1st round draft pick status. They need a franchise quarterback and know how to get one.
