People need to understand the difference between the criminal justice AND civil justice system. They are two SEPARATE things. To convict Dunn of a crime THE STATE has to show he intended to kill (1st Degree Murder) or by an act imminently dangerous to another and evincing a depraved mind showing no regard for human life (2nd Degree Murder), killed Jordan or otherwise attempted to kill the others. The State must prove their case by the highest standard- beyond any reasonable doubt. Th civil suit has a different judge, different purpose and different standard. To prove wrongful death, we simply need to show by the greater weight of the evidence that Dunn acted negligently, which his lawyers have admitted, causing the death and other damages. As such, he'd be responsible for damages the jury decides, such as funeral expenses, psychological bills to the boys and much more. If you had been through anything like this, you'd understand it is in no way frivolous and serves an important role in our system. People grieve differently. I admire how these parents have handled it. We don't care if anyone agrees or not- anyone who has lost a child can close their eyes and understand. I will stake my professional reputation there was no gun. The family deserves and shall use the civil jury system and the State will use the criminal jury system to obtain justice and deter others from acting so uncontrollably and uncivilized. This is more than the negativity deserved, but there is some confusion that there must be a criminal trial first- it's wrong. He was charged. He will have the chance to prove his case. Money is irrelevant, but justice is not. Feel free to work harder for gun rights if you think you need to. It's your prerogative, just like it is theirs'.

Again, its all about the money with these people. He isn't even charged or convicted yet and they want money. Dunn hasn't even gotten a chance to prove or try to prove he felt his life was in danger and they are already wanting money. Yeah...you really loved your son, as long as it pays you money, gets your face in the 'spot light' or makes idiot politicians try to change EVERYONE'S civil rights to carry a gun for protection, whether its from a thug or a tyrant ruled Government of thugs.
