ORANGE PARK, Fla. -- Cracked shells and dried yolk now stain the Clay County Republican Headquarters where vandals recently struck.
"This morning our Victory office director came in and she found that our headquarters had been egged," said Leslie Dougher, Chairwoman of the Republican Party in Clay County.
They believe the incident happened sometime late Tuesday night.
The vandals not only tagged their office, but also one of their large campaign signs that was posted on Highway 220 and U.S. 17. It now has the word "liar" spray-painted over the front.
Pictures taken outside of the office shortly after the incident also show racist, profane papers that were thrown around the entranceway.
"They said things I can't repeat," said Dougher.
This isn't the first time the Clay County Republican Party says they've fallen victim to vandals this election year. Dougher says it's actually happened four or five times.
"We've had various other signs vandalized. We've had our large sign thrown into the street," she said.
They fear it's only going to escalate as Election Day nears.
"I don't mind people having another view of politics, but let's discuss it, let's debate it. This type of vandalism hurts everybody," said Dougher.
The Clay County Republicans did file a police report with the Clay County Sheriff's Office.
