ORANGE PARK, Fla. -- A 75 year-old man is in the Clay County jail, accused of leading deputies on a high speed chase earlier this week.

Dudley Webb of Middleburg has been charged with aggravated assault with intent and fleeing/eluding a police officer.

On Monday afternoon a deputy saw Webb driving erratically and tried to pull him over on Blanding Boulevard. Webb continued driving over the speed limit and, at one point, drove at 90 mph in a 35 mph zone. The man later drove into oncoming traffic, according to the sheriff's office.  According to the arrest report, he even tried to hit an officer with his car.

Deputies were finally able to throw spike strips which caused Webb's 2006 Chrysler 300 front tires to deflate.  He was treated and released from Orange Park Medical Center today and taken to jail.

Webb is being held on a $100,000 bond.
