CLAY COUNTY, Fla. -- The Clay County Sheriff's Office is warning people about a jury duty scam.

Investigators have not heard of any local cases, but the scam has targeted people in Central Florida.

The caller tells people they've missed jury duty and must pay a fine.

The Clay County Clerk of Court wants to remind people most court-related communication is handled through official mail.  If you receive a potential scam call, investigators want you to document as much information as possible without giving out any personal or financial information, and report it to your local law enforcement agency.

Call the Clay County Clerk of Court's office at 904-278-3672 if you have any questions.
