Clay County rejects raises for teachers
CLAY COUNTY, Fla. -- Teachers will not get the raises they say they were promised.
The Clay County Education Association says its plan to give teachers larger raises was shot down by the school board during a collective bargaining meeting tonight in Green Cove Springs.
They wanted teachers to be paid more than the county is offering, a little more than $350.
The union says Gov. Rick Scott intended for more money to go to teachers rather than administrators.
