ORANGE PARK, Fla. -- A driver who led deputies on a chase south of the Orange Park Mall is still on the run.

Deputies tell Action News the driver did not corporate with orders after they tried to pull over the stolen vehicle.

After a small chase, the driver eventually ditched the four-door car at a Shell gas station and took off running.

Investigators questioned the wanted driver's passenger but did not arrest him.

Law enforcement searched hours for the driver, who is described as being in 40s and likely unarmed.

If found, the wanted man will be charged with grand theft auto, according to a Clay County Sheriff's Office deputy.

given the photo, the charge should be misdemeanor auto theft... that vehicle looks about 17 years old, making its value questionable !!! however, they could charge him with parking in the bushes,, leaving the scene of an accident & evasion of law enforcement .... must not have been blanding blvd, for it to be a high speed chase !!!
